Happy Birthday Christy!!
So which of my friends is most likely to have her 40th birthday surprise party cancelled due to the stomach virus??? There is only one: CHRISTY. I swear, this girl's family has had the stomach virus more than I can count. Through the years, it has shown up in time for JA parties, 20th Century parties, supper club...we even got to all take it home with us a party favor one year! The weird thing is that it always attacks them in December... Anyway, this December definitely did not disappoint. Under the dark cover of night, Christy's husband Bret and I cooked up a surprise birthday dinner at the winery in Pittsburg, but then the famous stomach virus struck Katie, their four-year-old daughter. SO, it was on to plan B, a birthday lunch on Monday at Laura's.
Christy's delish chocolate cake covered with chocolate-covered strawberries. Fortunately, it kept for a couple of days in the fridge!
